Hello Kansas City and welcome back to part two of documenting and listing out the top best Le Mans cars that I’ve ever raced. Now Thomas have you ever been to a Le Mans race? I never have. Would you ever want to go? I’d want to race.
You want to race in one? I would want to race and so Le Mans isn’t actually a… Le Mans is like a one specific race. So Le Mans is like the Super Bowl of the GT touring series. I’d love to race in it.
You know there’s several people that I know that I met through the street racing world who got into racing on a track and they’re just really good drivers. There’s two that I can think of, Jesse Yui and Grant. I can’t think of his last name.
It’ll come to me but they both were street racers, got into racing on a track, both got noticed by sponsors and Grant now we’re the same age. He’s raced at Le Mans three years now in a row. Have you performed a Kansas City car detailing service on a Le Mans car? I have.
Actually I have. I pulled the livery off of a car for a guy. That would have been in 2020.
I pulled the wrap off of it because I was getting a new wrap done because he got like all new sponsors, a whole new design on the car and so I stripped that car down to the… I’ve actually, I’ve done two. I’ve done two cars. You’ve done two? I’ve done two.
They were both Porsche 911s. That’s your favorite. Huh? That’s one of your One was a 991 GT3 RSR and then the other one was a 996 Cup 3 car.
So one was black and green and white and the other one was just all black and I stripped them both down and they both were white when I was done with them. Wow. So they could get ready for a wrap.
So I have done Kansas City car detailing packages on both. That’s so cool. So if you get your car done by Bespoke Automotive Refinement you can also receive the same luxury that a Le Mans car received.
All right so in part one we broke down the top four of the best Le Mans cars of all time. Number five is a Jaguar D-Type from 1955 to 1957. It’s a three-time winner.
Iconic 1950s racer with advanced aerodynamics and beauty. Jaguar really used to be like a staple of of racing like in the 50s and 60s and 70s. Now they’re all about making their cars gay.
That’s true. But they were at one point Jaguar would have been like same name as like Ferrari. Wow really? I didn’t know they’re that kind of luxury.
They were well not luxury. Ferrari didn’t become like a luxury status thing until like the 80s. Ferrari used to be all about racing and if you bought a Ferrari up until like the 80s it was because you just wanted something to drive.
It wasn’t until the 80s on that you started getting guys that were buying Ferraris to just have a car to like flex. You know what I mean? Yeah. That kind of became a new thing.
But Jaguar used to be just like Ferrari. I mean they had they had racing pedigree. Same with Maserati before they got bought out by Ferrari.
Number six. I would not have thought this. A Toyota.
Toyota GR010 hybrid. So 2021 to present. Toyota’s Le Mans dominance in the hypercar era.
Cutting edge hyper hybrid tech and a bulletproof reliability. Look that one up as well. That’s also a GT1 series car.
So it’s not a car that is a street legal car necessarily but Toyota’s racing team it’s called TRD. Y’all see how they all kind of look the same? A little more race car. Yeah they are race cars but I gotta give credit to Toyota.
They do make really fun fast street cars. The Supra, the 2000 GT. I mean Toyota made a supercar in the 70s that’s like a five million dollar car now.
Oh wow. And it’s because they were no one wanted them because they didn’t want to you know they’d rather spend the money on a Ferrari. Yeah than a Toyota.
Yeah than a Toyota and so very few of them were ever ordered. Very few were ever made. Uh-huh.
So it makes them special now. Yeah because they’re just so rare. You never see them.
Wow. So they’re but yeah that’s part of the GT1 series but Toyota’s got a really good race team. As far as I know actually Toyota’s getting into um uh the Formula One series.
Wow. They’re gonna start building Formula One cars. Okay that’s interesting.
Number seven is a Porsche 91k from 1970 to 1971. It was the first Porsche to win Le Mans. One of the most legendary race cars ever built.
Look that one up. It was so sad because all through the 50s and well I guess all through mostly the 60s Porsche would be out there with like a 911. Oh yeah.
Yep and you know what’s crazy? What’s that? The car with the blue and the orange on it. That was that yep it was it was a that was a golf car. Um that car lives in Kansas.
Really? And I have in the loosest of terms worked on that car. Wow Stephen Queens? Yep that exact car. Wow.
So there’s a guy in you know when we’re going through when you’re going from Tulsa to Wichita and you get off the Tulsa Turnpike and you go through that little town called Winfield right before you get to Wichita? Yeah. There’s a guy who had a robotics company that he sold to um Boeing in the 2000s. He’s a younger guy like he’s like your parents age.
Okay. And just made insane money and so he started buying all these crazy cars and one of them is a 91k. Wow.
So that car lives in technically it lives in Wichita. It’s in um that shift so it’s cool though is he took it to Cars and Coffee. He was a good friend of a client of mine.
I never worked on anything for him specifically but he we we all took our cars to Cars and Coffee. Well I went with Tyler Hoover. I drove his McLaren that day and I had some detail spray and a towel on me and the car was covered in bugs because they’ve driven from Winfield to Wichita.
So I cleaned the bugs off of that exact car. That is so cool. You guys have the coolest experiences.
Number eight is an Audi R18 e-tron quattro. First hybrid to win Le Mans. Changed the game with diesel electric tech.
Made a lot of hybrids. Well that’s what the GT1 series is. Okay.
The GT1 series is hybrid like now when when you think hybrid and you hear you think of like a Prius or a Tesla or like even a Jeep. Yeah. Those cars aren’t hybrids to be like economically a like um um what’s the word where you’re like tipping.
Oh um yeah like eco-friendly or whatever. Yeah those aren’t to be eco-friendly so what they do is those electric motors can create a ton of power and so they’ll pair the electric motor with a gas motor and make insane power. Oh wow.
So that’s why those GT1 cars are hybrids is because they pair an electric motor with a gas engine and they make crazy power. Okay cool. So somebody’s wanting to get a hold of you to talk more about cars or Kansas City Car Detailing Service or Kansas City Car Detailing Package.
