Guys, today I’m actually headed back from Arkansas right now after doing a sequel stage correction and 10 years ceramic coating on a customer’s truck and was just thinking about some different things that we can discuss on the podcast and you know sometimes cars come to me I feel like I have this prophetic ability with cars. You know I’ll have a dream about a car that I haven’t thought of in years and you know I’ll be thinking about buying one car and then I’ll have a dream that it’ll like spark this new interest in me to make me want to start being motivated to work toward another car and so for the last few months I’ve been highly motivated working saving my money to buy a C7 Z06 Corvette.
And this morning I woke up and I was overwhelmed with this emotion that I had toward a car that I’d never really researched before but it created this new passion for this car and I thought well you know I’m driving down the road I’ll start listening to some stuff on it and it’s pretty cool I had a dream about owning one of these cars and driving one of these cars and I thought man I don’t even know if that’s an attainable car for me you know I didn’t know if they were five hundred thousand dollars I didn’t know if they were fifty thousand dollars come to find out they’re actually about five million dollars but they make a one-to-one replica kind of like the factory five and backdraft make like the cobra the gt40 and the shelby daytona this company I’ll just tell you what the car is the car was a porsche 550 spider now if you do know what that is you’re probably thinking why on earth was he having a dream about one of those or you were like man he’s probably you know he was probably having dreams about you know living in Greenwich Connecticut and driving his his porsche 599 spider from his jet to his yacht because typically if you own one of those cars that’s the kind of life you live they are extremely expensive the only time I’ve ever seen anyone driving one is someone who was hyper wealthy so I thought anyways so I was just doing a little bit of research while I was driving 80 miles an hour down the highway on my way back to Kansas City I know that sounds very uh very safe and come to find out these cars are actually very attainable in another way which is through buying one via a kit car and you can get them in you know whatever color you want you can have it painted whatever color you want you can buy a kit car already done I think the kit itself is like eighteen thousand dollars or you can buy one already done for you know anywhere between thirty eight thousand to fifty thousand depending on how extensive the the build was you know what kind of engine transmission etc you know all those things but you know as I started looking into this and realizing how attainable these are I realized this is a car that I not only could potentially own someday but a car that I actually want to add to my list of potential dream cars um a couple really unique things about the Porsche 550 Spyder numerous Kansas City car detail um celebrities were actually killed driving these cars they were killed driving them in at high speeds like one of them was James Dean James Dean was a you know obviously a very famous actor and he was driving his out in the Sierra Desert um or excuse me the uh not the Sierra Desert the uh to Nevada what’s the desert in Nevada not the Sierra Desert the Mojave Desert he was out driving his 550 Spyder in the Mojave Desert and I mean I don’t know how fast he was going but he wrecked and I think the car just like disintegrated into a million pieces along the highway and he was a part of that so it’s a very dangerous car but if you’re a car guy if you’re like man I want something that is terrifying to drive I don’t think there’s anything more terrifying than a car with 300 horsepower that weighs 1300 pounds let me think about that for a second 300 horsepower weighing 1300 pounds if you take that same statistic or that same like number ratio power to weight ratio and you compare that to a modern car that’s a thousand horsepower in a let’s call it a 3900 pound car like a like a Porsche 911 like the new 911s that is what that’s comparable to is a thousand horsepower in a new Porsche 911 but they’re very lightweight they’re very nimble I’ve never driven one I’ve never actually even seen one in person but this dream I had um I had a had a yellow 997 Porsche Carrera 4S with a tech art body kit and it was a very detailed dream this yellow 911 in my dream had Ford Star F14 wheels and polished aluminum and next to it was a jet black with a like rich peanut butter cinnamon interior Porsche 550 Spyder and I have not been able to get that car out of my head all day like that car combo I have not been able to get that out of my head Kansas City car detailing all day I’ve been thinking about like okay you know a 997 Carrera 4S with a tech art body kits like 50 grand okay that’s attainable that’s and that would actually be a car that I would really like though my wife’s heard me talk about in that car I had AI make me like that identical car four days ago so that’s already been a car that’s like been in my head but when I woke up this morning and like I’m thinking about a 550 Spyder I’m like I don’t even know if that’s an attainable car I started looking into it and I started researching them and you know you can buy one for $38,000 to $50,000 Kansas City car detailing and so I’m going to continue my research on the Porsche 550 Spyder um it’s actually the the the one that I could afford and really the one that I would have any interest in buying would be a uh would be the the kit car and it’s called a Beck Spyder and it’s a again it’s a one-to-one replica of the real thing uses a water-cooled or should be an air-cooled four-cylinder flat plane crank boxer engine I just can’t quit thinking about it and especially black with a peanut butter interior old car like that oh I don’t even care what other people think that would be the sickest car to own if you had a modern 911 to park next to it that’s the only thing that could be your only sports car you would have to have a modern 911 to like drive in the rain or like drive when it’s cold but a 550 I just yeah I’m smiling ear to ear
