So first things first The car that we took on this cruise was a to that was our 2006 Corvette Z of six Cars got a built motor poured and polished heads resleeved short block big cam Loud it’s rowdy. It’s a it’s definitely fast.
And so we actually took the car out with a couple of Different cars. There was a Hellcat. There were a few bikes and then there was the the other, you know main character car, which was a gen 3 Viper SRT 10 which was really really fun.
It was blue with white stripes. So We went out and did some spirited driving together The car actually performed really really well with the Viper Actually beat it which was which was pretty cool, you know growing up being a car guy Never seeing a Viper until I think I was 10 years old What an experience now in a car that beats a Viper in a straight line That was a lot of fun, but uh, we did some spirited driving hit some corners chased a few bikes down obviously, we the the the z06 was the faster car of the group, however, the the Hayabusa and the Gixxer 1000 was Not really a not really a match Or I wasn’t a match for them but yeah, we we went out and took some photos and got some video of the cars and got some rollers and but car rallies are something that are becoming more and more popular and it’s actually what I want to lead into today is these car rallies and What we did over the weekend. So this weekend as you know bespoke refinement Kansas City car detailing is the number one sponsor for the Cavalino Corsa Ferrari rally that runs through the Midwestern United States.
And so this weekend we got the Cavalino Corsa Van ready for the rally. So the the owner of the rally he has multiple Ford Transit vans and the one that we worked on this weekend in particular is was Pretty rough just full disclosure. It was it was it was pretty rough.
So And about a hundred and eighty thousand miles on it, you know, it was bought specifically for the rally and It needed a lot of work. I mean he had the bumper painted he had the interior completely gutted and redone but he also had the Exterior needed a lot of paint correction work now, it’s interesting about this job in particular was You can’t really do a full correction on something that big That is that deeply scratched over the course of a couple of days, which was the time frame that we were working with so What we did with the van is we did a three-step correction process But it was a quick correction process, so it wasn’t like a true Paint correction where you know, we sit there and we work out every little fine scratch I basically worked five by five sections First starting with a rotary the rotary knocked it down and basically, you know Added a ton of those swirls, but it knocked it down to the point where it glossed up a lot It was really shiny looked a lot better. And then we chased it with the DA on mid-speed with cutting compound and then chased it with a foam pad with finishing polish and the result was Incredible.
I mean the result was night and day difference on this Ford Transit van Some of the issues that I ran into with it was my rotary was Not able to cut through a lot of the deeper scratches There were like jagged edges. It had been covered in dents, but it had been previously PDR So because it had been PDR, you know, we really didn’t know We really didn’t know how I didn’t know how many of those dents were or how many of those deep scratches came from dents or if they just came from You know, it’s being scratched heavily, but regardless we we got it done. It actually took us three days Three days ten hour days.
It was a total of 30 hours is what we clocked on it and It turned out Phenomenal the owner was very happy with it Kansas City car detailing and Even though the Rally is not until October We wanted to make sure that we got it done now got it looking good now that way if we ran in anything in the Future we can get it touched up. So a Question that people have had what are we taking on the rally? Are we working the rally? Are we driving a car on the rally? Well We’re actually gonna be working the rally so even though we have a 700 horsepower Corvette in the garage that could probably Spank half the cars on the rally if not more than half We’re gonna be working the rally we’re gonna be cleaning the cars we’re gonna be More employees are on the rally rather than our helpers rather than Attendees which is fun because you know, I’m on a four-day Five-day rally we’re gonna we’re gonna make About a month’s worth of income on that one week, which is a lot of fun.
