Hello, Kansas city. Welcome to the Bespoke Automotive Refinement Podcast. We are so glad that you are here today.

We have the founder of Bespoke Automotive Refinement, the man, the myth, the legend, the Thomas Thill. Thank you so much for joining us today and giving us some of your wisdom. Hey, you know what? I am just so humbled to be the one-stop shop for Kansas city auto detailing services, and I am just so thankful to be on the show with you today.

Well, when you and I met, I knew nothing about cars. I have a Jeep and I absolutely adore it. And I studied everything about it.

But outside of that, honestly, cars go a little bit over my head. What size engine is in your Jeep? It’s a V… How many liters? Rude. So I want to ask you some questions because I myself have some questions about cars in general, if you’re okay with it.

I have some answers. Okay. First off, what is the difference between a sports car, a muscle car, a turbo supercar? Like what, what are all these terms that people throw out for these various categories of cars? Well, let’s start at the top and we’ll work our way down.

So at the top of the food chain, you have what’s called a hyper car. A hyper car is a car that is both a, it’s basically a hybrid, but it’s a high powered battery and high powered engine supercar. So these are like your Porsche 918 Spiders, McLaren P1s, McLaren Senna’s, Ferrari LaFerraris.

These are cars that are over $2 million new and they use hyperdrive technology, thus the name hyper car. Next, you have a supercar. Now, a super car is, in my opinion, there’s, there’s a super, well, there’s, there’s different contradictions.

So some people claim that a supercar is a car that can do 200 miles an hour. Well, there’s cars that I consider super cars that can’t do 200 miles an hour. I would deem a supercar, a vehicle that costs over a hundred thousand dollars new and is, has either a, has at least 500 horsepower from the factory.

To me, those two things make it a supercar. Then you have a sports car. A sports car can also be known as a grand touring car, which is a two seater, higher horsepower, but not crazy high horsepower.

Some people consider a sports car needing to be manual only. I think a sports car can even be automatic, but a sports car is going to be something that’s either front engine, mid engine or rear engine that you can drive on long road trips, thus the name GT or grand tour and they’re right underneath supercar level. To me, I consider a supercar, like a Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari 430 scud, a Corvette Z06, Corvette ZR1.

And then I would consider a sports car, like a Nissan 370Z or a Ford Fiesta ST. To me, those are like sports cars. And then finally you have muscle cars. Now, muscle cars are big.
They’re real, they’re only American muscle. So they’re only American made and they’re going to be a big bodied American made car with a big engine in them. And they’re really only built for going in a straight line.

It’s like, you’re never going to see a muscle car going around a racetrack. They can’t do it. They have too much body roll.

Their suspension’s too, too floaty, but they are meant for one thing. And that is going in a straight line as fast as possible. So to me, a muscle car is going to be, you know, a Chevy Camaro Supersport, a Mustang Shelby GT500, a Dodge Challenger Hellcat.

Those are all, they’re all modern day sports, or excuse me, muscle cars. So. What is a retro car versus like a vintage car? Is that the same thing? Yeah.

So retro versus vintage, I would consider a vintage car to be something, um, classy, but not something that you would see like someone driving in the seventies or eighties. To me, retro is seventies or eighties. It’s like when I think, when I think classy or vintage, I imagine my grandpa’s 1957 Chevy Bel Air on Kreger wheels.

Was it fast? No. Was it classy? One of the prettiest cars ever. Retro.

I think of a Porsche 959. I think of a Ferrari 308 GTS. I think of a Lamborghini Countach.
To me, those cars are retro because they were, I imagine when I think of retro, I imagine what a rich hippie would be driving. That makes sense. So at Bespoke Automotive Refinement, do you offer any Kansas City auto detailing services for somebody who does have a vintage or a retro car? Like what, what would you recommend for somebody that has an older car that wants to make it shine again? We go ham on literally every year, make or model any vehicle in existence.

I would say that what I work on the most are supercars and hypercars. Um, that would have been by choice, but that’s just where I find myself now. Um, I’ve done work on classic cars, muscle cars, retro cars, vintage cars.

Um, if you are listening right now or reading this, you should definitely check out his Rolls Royce on Instagram. It is absolutely gorgeous what he did to that car. Yes.

That, that was definitely one of those jobs that when I showed up at the client’s facility to work on it, um, it was a, it was a 1974 Rolls Royce Corniche II and immediately when I saw it and I realized that it had a single stage paint job, I didn’t think I was going to be able to do anything with it. Because it was all original paint. It was black, it was spider webbed.

And, um, I was able to utilize my Kansas City auto detailing services on this car and just completely turn it into a brand new paint job. And I was not expecting it to turn out that way. So we definitely have a lot of different Kansas City auto detailing services that can cater to every type of vehicle you own, whether you’ve got a muscle car or a supercar or a sports car or a supercar, even if you’ve got a minivan.

We’ll take care of you no matter what you’ve got. So how would somebody get a hold of you if they want a Kansas City auto detailing package done on their vehicle?
