Hello Kansas City and welcome back to the Bespoke Automotive Refinement Podcast. We are your one-stop shop for all things detailing, car detailing, and Kansas City car detailing. Guys, today we’re going to be continuing our segment on marketplace cars.
So this is a segment that I really enjoy because as a car guy I am constantly scouring the internet on, particularly on marketplace, to look at cars that are for sale, cars that are available. I love watching the market of what certain cars are doing. It’s really interesting watching some cars go down in value and seeing other cars shoot up.
So that’s what we’re going to be doing today. So we’re going to start with, we’re actually going to be in Kansas City this go-around. So I’ve got my marketplace pin here set to Kansas City, and here we go.
So the first thing on the list is a 1998 Corvette. Looks like in the photos it has a Pro Charger, a fully built motor. Well, let’s see.
Yeah, it’s got a fully built motor, 420 wheel horsepower, and that’s actually really pretty. But for $24,000 with 29,000 miles you can basically get a supercharged C5 Corvette. I’m not a fan of it being an automatic.
I’m not a fan of the body kit that’s on it, but hey, to each their own. Next on the list here is a 1980 Mini Cooper. This is actually really cool.
Like, I actually want to go get this right now. I mean, it needs a lot of work. It’s, you know, body’s rusted, interior’s falling apart, but that’s really, really, really pretty.
It’s like that older body style from the Italian job. I don’t know many Coopers. I’ve had one before, but I don’t really know much about them.
But I will tell you that I think that they’re the coolest little cars ever. Don’t care what anyone says, I think they’re awesome. Okay, next on the list here we have a, let’s see, we have a 1992 Ford Mustang LX Coupe.
Now this car, oh wow. So this car has a fully built motor, it’s bright green. I don’t really see what all, like, power it makes, but it’s like basically just a fully built street rod or a resto mod.
It’s got a fully built interior. I mean, $35,000 for a Fox body is pretty crazy, but once you see what all is done to it, it kind of makes sense. Oh, it’s got an LS in it, because where the Ford normally would be, on the little blue oval, there’s a Chevrolet emblem.
So yeah, it’s a, yep, it’s a 415 LS. That’s awesome. All right, next on the list here, guys, we have a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette, and it’s a base model.
It’s actually, honestly, this car is not too far from where we live. But it’s $24,000, it’s a fully built engine, BTR cam, same cam that this car has actually, our Z06 has, LS7 lifters, push rods. You know, one thing that I love about Corvettes is the price or the value and performance range.
Like, this car’s, they’re asking $24,000 for it, right? It’s a built LS2, the car’s probably making 430, 440 to the wheels for $24,000. I mean, that’s awesome. Like, that is a really, really, really good value.
I would buy a built base model Corvette while still owning the Z06, because I think that they’re great cars. I love Corvettes. I love the Z06 and, you know, big fan.
All right, next on the list here, guys, we have a 1940 Willys truck. Now, I don’t know what, oh, no, it’s like a chop top. So the roof’s chopped in half, so it’s obviously got that slanted roof.
I want 46,004. It’s got 350 SBC in it, 350 turbo transmission. What an interesting looking car.
I don’t know if I’m a fan, honestly. I have recently, I have found myself getting more into the 1932 and 1934 Ford coupes. I think those are really starting to shoot up in value, and I really enjoy checking those out.
So I think those are really awesome cars. Okay, let’s see here. Next on the list, we have a 2011 Corvette Grand Sport.
This one is actually a really, really, really unique car. It’s in Sebring Orange, which is a rare color. It’s got 51,000 miles.
This was actually going to be, like, if I couldn’t get the Z06 that we bought, this was going to be the car that I got. It was going to be a Sebring Orange Grand Sport. This one’s got the manual, 50,000 miles.
That’s a good car. That’s a really, really, really good car. I’m telling you, I’m a big Corvette guy.
I think that they’re one of the best cars ever made. Obviously, for the money. Now, if you’re talking, you know, no budget, obviously a Bugatti is going to be better.
But no budget, the Corvette, whether it’s a C5 or a C6, can’t beat it. Okay, next on the list here, we have a 2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10. It’s kind of funny, I actually raced one of these last night and I beat it.
This thing is worth way more. They got this one at $48,000. It’s got a lowering kit, full bolt-on.
Still, I love the way those old Vipers look.
