But our primary thing is Kansas City car detailing. Guys, today we are going to be talking about Thomas Thill’s dream garage. What is my dream car garage as of this week? Because it changes.
Because I’m very indecisive with cars. That’s why the Kansas City car detailing business has been very good for me. I get to experience all sorts of new cars and cool car collections, and figure out what I like and what I don’t like.
And it’s a very fascinating thing to do and to be a part of. Today we are going to talk about my dream car garage. And it is filled with P cars.
I’m going to tell you that right now. It is like, yeah, it’s filled with portions. It is like a three car, or excuse me, a four car solution.
And it’s all portions. And this kind of stems from, I’ve really been dreaming about owning a 911. A yellow 911 for the last month.
I’ve been thinking about either a 996 Turbo with the factory aero kit. Or a 997 Carrera 4S with the tech art aero kit. Either one of them have to be in speed yellow.
And those cars in general are so rare to come across. But to find one in speed yellow is like, it’s rare. You find one and you almost either have to buy it in whatever color you can find and then wrap it.
Or pay whatever premium you can when you find the right one. Because they’re rare. But realistically, my next car will be a yellow 911 of some sort.
Whether it’s a Turbo or a Carrera 4S. And then whether it’s a wrapped yellow car. Or if it’s actually painted.
I’ll make sure the wrap job is good enough that all of the door jams and hood jams and door seals all out are done. So you would never know. Anyways, yellow Porsche has been on my mind.
Yellow 911 has been on my mind for the last month. Kansas City Car Detailer. And last night I had this dream about a jet black Porsche 550 Spyder.
And you know, I have been able to get that car out of my head all morning. And the only caveat to that is, I owned a yellow Porsche 911 Carrera 4S. It was a 997.
With the TechArt body kit. Right next to, it was sitting right next to this jet black 550 Spyder. And actually in my dream, I took the car out and I drove it on some really good roads in Arkansas.
Which is where I was at when I had the dream. I was actually like 10 minutes from the Pig Trail. Which is one of the best roads to drive on in North America.
So maybe that was predictive programming, I don’t really know. But I was specifically thinking about a jet black 550 Spyder. All morning.
And I started looking into it on the drive back to Kansas City. Because that’s what you do when you’re driving down the highway. You research cars.
Not really, you’re not supposed to do that. But I was looking at these 550 Spyder Porsches. And I realized that there’s actually a company that makes them called Beck.
It’s called a Beck Spyder. And I looked at a few of them for sale. And believe it or not, owning a yellow Porsche 911.
And owning a jet black 550 Spyder. For me, is far more attainable than I would have ever thought. So stay tuned on whether that happens.
But the third car in this three car solution that I’ve been thinking up all day. It’s definitely not a cheap one. I will say that.
I will say this next car is something that you’ve got to have seven figures. To even touch one of these. But it’s a Porsche Carrera GT.
Now I have a very unique relationship with the Porsche Carrera GT. For a couple of reasons. Number one, the Carrera GT is what killed my idol growing up.
Paul Walker. And the other reason is. One of the first supercars I ever actually saw.
Was a Carrera GT. I was at the Ferrari dealership in Denver, Colorado. As a kid.
And it was kind of, it was very overwhelming. Because like I’d never really been up close to a supercar before. And all of a sudden I’m up close to like a bunch of them at once.
But there was a red with yellow calipers Porsche Carrera GT. And I remember walking by it and I remember thinking like. You know at that point they were I think like a $200,000 car.
You know they bottomed out. Just knew they were $350,000. $350,000 or $500,000 but I think they were like around $200,000 at this time.
And. I remember thinking then like this car looks like it doesn’t belong in this showroom. Because it was parked in there with you know a 430, a Ferrari 430.
And a Lamborghini Diablo. And just even then. The Carrera GT looked too exotic to be there.
So. Anyways. It was the first crazy supercar I ever saw.
And then the second reason why it’s a very special car to me. Is. It was the first million dollar car I ever worked on.
It was the first million dollar car I ever performed a Kansas City car detailing service on. I had a client who was from Finland. And he bought one brand new.
And I guess he just never. He never sold it. He held on to it from new.
And it’s ironic. I actually detailed his Hellcat not knowing he had a Carrera GT. He brought the Hellcat to my shop.
And I did the Hellcat. I did a Kansas City paint correction and ceramic coating for him. So come to my house.
I’ve got a few more cars I want you to look at. We walk in his garage. You know there’s a. There’s a. Gumpert Apollo.
There was a Pagani. Not a Zonda. It was a. Why Ron? It was a Pagani.
No it was a Zonda. It was a Pagani Zonda. There was a Pagani Veyron.
And then there in the corner was a Porsche Carrera GT. It was silver. It was like the most basic color.
And I remember I’m like. You know I didn’t even know that these cars existed in the state of Kansas. And I’m staring at.
Really four cars that. I didn’t even know anyone had in the Midwest. And they’re all parked right in front of me.
And one guy owns them all. So I’m going to have you do the. I’m going to have you do the.
The Carrera GT first. And so that was the first million dollar car I ever worked on. And.
There’s something about that car. And there’s something about every Porsche. That.
They never built those cars to be safe. I mean I think they do now. I think everything after like 2015.
Is extremely safe. But prior to that. Like.
Anything that Porsche made was just a death trap. And they knew it when they were making them. But that’s part of the fun in driving a car.
