Hello Kansas City and welcome back to Bespoke Automotive Refinement, your go-to number one Kansas City car detailing package podcast. We are so glad that you joined us today on this beautiful wonderful day. We are currently at a gym working on just some marketing techniques and we’re having a great time talking people about cars and what we do.
Today I’m gonna be picking Thomas’s brain and kind of getting his thoughts and opening them up to you guys. Are you ready? Absolutely. We’re gonna get personal, are you ready? We’re gonna get personal.
All right, number one, what was the first car you ever owned? First car I ever owned was a 1993 Honda Civic EG hatch. It had a B16 swap so it had a it had a JDM engine in it. It had no power steering, it didn’t have electric doors and the only option that it had it had a sunroof but it was a manual transmission and it was like the ultimate original Fast and Furious car.
It had a high revving four-cylinder. It was a pretty cool first car. Next question, what’s your dream car? I know you’ve got more than one.
My dream car right now, because it changes once a week, I really want a twin-turbo Lamborghini. That used to be my dream car for years and then I kind of faded away from it and then I’ve started like watching videos of them going through my phone like looking at it. I used I had a Kansas City car detailing client who had one.
I used to drive it all the time and I’ve been going back through watching those videos and just reconnecting with that dream. So yeah, a twin-turbo Lamborghini is my dream car right now. Number three, what is the fastest car you’ve ever driven? A twin-turbo Lamborghini Huracan.
It was 1800 horsepower I drove the car a lot and I never really drove it. I only drove it hard one time and that was going over the Galveston Bay Bridge from the bottom of the bridge to the top of the bridge. I got the car to 208 miles an hour and that was like I was hooked after that.
Manual or automatic? Manual. What’s your preference? Manual if you’re wanting to feel one with the car. Automatic if you’re wanting to go fast because you can’t outshift a computer.
So if you’re wanting to get a really fast time and you’re wanting to be faster than anyone else an automatic is going to be faster but if you’re wanting to if you’re going for the experience definitely a manual. If you could only own one car for the rest of your life what would it be? A Porsche 911 Turbo S. It’s the perfect one car solution. It’s all-wheel drive.
You can drive it in the snow. It’s got pretty decent storage in it and it’s a it’s definitely a supercar. It’s fast.
What car holds the most sentimental value for you? C6 Z06. It was my dream car for a really long time. It was a car that as a kid playing Need for Speed I always that was like my car that I wanted to get in the game because you could modify it and you could be faster than any other car in the game.
So I always wanted a C6 Z06 and I was able to buy one in 2019 and that was like the first like acquisition of an actual dream car in my life. So I will always hold that car very high on the totem pole. What’s the best road trip you’ve ever taken? The best road trip I’ve ever taken would probably be from Wichita to Colorado Springs because I drove I had another was a C5 Z06.
It was 850 horsepower and it was right after I started my Kansas City car detailing business and I drove the car from Wichita to Denver and we street raced and then I went from Denver to Pikes Peak drove it up Pikes Peak drove it back down Pikes Peak competed in a half mile event. It was a two-day half mile event. I ended up making it into the finals before I got eliminated and then drove the car back to Denver partied with my friends and then drove back to Wichita.
So that was like I would say that was the coolest road trip because I was just I drove the car I raced it and then I won and then I almost won and then I drove home. So it was just it was that was really fun. Yeah.
What’s the coolest car you’ve ever gotten to drive? Oh man. Because cool can be interpreted probably lots of different ways. It can be.
I would say the coolest car I’ve ever driven not the fastest but the coolest would be a Ferrari F12 TDF and it was the car that you and I actually drove away in our wedding. That’s a car that you know it’s it’s the only Giallo Modena F12 TDF in the world that’s got every carbon fiber option factory from Ferrari and I mean it’s a million dollar car so that’s probably the coolest one and I’ve driven it quite a bit so definitely the F12 TDF. What’s your favorite driving road in the world whether you’ve done it or not? There’s two.
The tail of the dragon if we’re talking about a crazy twisty curvy road and that road just north of Nashville that’s like my dream to drive a fast car on that road but it’s like a curvy road and then if we’re talking straight line the Autobahn. Do you know what the Autobahn is? I do but go ahead and explain. The Autobahn it’s in Germany and there’s no speed limit so I was actually talking to someone the other day who’s driven on it and he was like you could be going 150 mile an hour and get passed by a Bugatti doing 250.
I mean that’s crazy to me. That’s wild. Yeah I’d love to drive on the Autobahn.
How many cars have you owned so far in your life? I quit counting after 30. Wow. Yeah after 30 I quit counting.
I think it’s like 35 now but most of them weren’t cool and that includes I’ve flipped a couple motorcycles. I didn’t really I don’t consider me owning them because I didn’t really like ride them much but I’ve had a couple motorcycles and a lot of cars so some of them weren’t that cool. I used to flip Nissan Versus and Toyota Corollas because they’re just they’re quick flips.
You can make good money on them but I think it’s like 35. Is there a car that you regret buying? Yes there’s a couple. I think my biggest regret is I bought a Mini Cooper uh JWC that was I mean it was really cool it was really unique being a JWC car but the car was it turned out to be stolen and I’d been given a faulty title and so I ended up selling the car for like next to nothing because I couldn’t figure out how to get the title and then that whole issue chased me around like three years after I bought it.
Oh no. Yeah that was that was a nightmare.
