Hey guys, welcome back to the Bespoke Automotive Refinement Podcast. We are Kansas City’s number one car detailing service. We do so many different Kansas City car detailing services and events and we just love coming on this podcast every week and talking Kansas City car detailing and cars in general.
So today guys, we are going to be talking about what is the best way to maintenance the ceramic coating on your vehicle. Now I have a lot of different Kansas City car detailing clients who, you know, some buy a new car and immediately want the car ceramic coated and then they’re off to the races and you never hear from them again. But my client that I had today, I’m actually really, was really inspired by.
So this guy purchased a 2025 Ford F-350. It was fully loaded. It had every option.
It was the F-350 Limited and it had a really cool custom red paint job on the exterior and on the interior, this truck had this very beautiful light blue leather interior with white diamond stitching all the way around it. Never seen a Ford pickup truck with an interior this beautiful before, but this guy had his truck ceramic coated back in September of 2024 and he reached out to me and, you know, he’d been washing the truck fairly regularly, but, you know, he wanted to give it a good thorough detail and give it a good ceramic maintenance job. And so that’s actually what we performed for him today was a ceramic maintenance.
So what is a ceramic maintenance detail? Well, with our Kansas City car detailing services that we offer, one of the most popular services that we offer are our paint correction and ceramic coating services. And this pickup truck received a full two-stage Kansas City paint correction service and a five-year Kansas City ceramic coating. And we applied G-Technic Crystal Serum Light to G-Technic Exo V5, which really brought out the depth of the paint, added a ton of gloss, added depth to the metallic flake, added a ton of protection to the paint, but also it removed all of the factory orange peel, all the factory texture in the paint, and it also just gave the paint a totally different look than what you would have found on the factory finish.
Now, after performing this Kansas City car detailing service to this Ford F-350, the gentleman immediately took the truck into the northern part of the United States to visit family. He endured a lot of snow and ice. Just like I said, I mean, he really used this truck the way a truck should be used.
So I showed up at his house and I started washing the truck, getting it ready for the ceramic maintenance, and I could immediately tell that this truck was, you know, the paint was beading properly on the upper half of the truck, but the lower half of the truck was not beading. It was just sheeting water. It looked like there was no protection on it.
And so I asked him, I said, how have you been maintenancing this, and he told me that primarily he’s just been taking it to a car wash and pressure washing it off, which does work pretty well on vehicles that don’t get daily driven, you know, vehicles that get driven a couple times a month. You know, you can wash them like that more often, but if you’re using a vehicle daily and you’re driving it down dirt roads and you’re driving it on snow and ice, the road grime and the tar and the salt and all of the harmful elements that we endure in our vehicles will begin to stick to the ceramic coating. And when it sticks to the ceramic coating, it will begin to eat through the pore, or not eat through, but it will stick to the ceramic coating, causing the pores to clog up.
So what is needed in this when this happens is we perform a very in-depth hand wash on the entire exterior of the vehicle, and then we do what’s called an iron remover maintenance, and this iron remover maintenance completely sheds any road grime that is stuck to the paint, and immediately after I washed it, I noticed the lower half of the paint was beading more, but it still was not getting that real hydrophobic effect that you want when you ceramic coat a vehicle. So I sprayed the iron remover on the entire vehicle, let it soak, pressure washed it again, and at that point, I started seeing even more of a beading effect on the paint. You could definitely tell after I did the iron remover on the paint that it had rehydrated the coating a lot, but I wasn’t done yet.
So I have what I call my secret sauce, and my secret sauce completely restores the life of the ceramic coating, and what I do, I’m going to give away one of my secrets here, what I do is while the vehicle is still completely soaked with water, I take this secret sauce and I spray it over the entire exterior of the vehicle, and I let it sit on there for a few minutes, and then I pressure wash it off, and that secret sauce completely changes the hydrophobic effect of the ceramic coating. It adds more slickness to the surface, it gives it way more of a beading factor, so the beads of the water on the paint, they’re way more consistent. You don’t have beads that are triangular shaped, and you don’t have beads that are square shaped, they’re all little tiny beads of water, and they all look identical, and this service is something that we offer to all of our Kansas City ceramic coating clients.
We offer it at a discount, and one of the cool things about our Kansas City paint correction services is they include a five-year Kansas City ceramic coating service included, so if you get a Kansas City paint correction, you are getting a free five-year Kansas City ceramic coating. It’s just one of those things that makes sense when you spend all that time making the paint look good, adding as much protection to the paint as possible, it’s a no-brainer, right? So we offer this on all of our Kansas City paint correction services, and we love offering this as well to people that are just wanting to have a Kansas City car detailing package purchased, but they want that protection with our Kansas City ceramic coating services.
