So today, are we talking more about, um, what we’re doing in the last two podcasts, which is comparing old vintage cars to their equivalents today.

If you have one of these cars, feel free to leave us a comment in the section below, or reach out to us on Instagram and Facebook. We love to hear about what cars that you own in your own garage. Now, number two on this list or next or number one on this list is a 1970 Plymouth H E M I Cuda.

Hemi Cuda, baby. Do you want to guess what my great grandpa took it? Put his, uh, put his slammed his cane down on the hood of one of those. Oh, you did that.

That was that car. Yeah. That’s what that was.

Yeah. You know, I, I, I think that is an iconic American muscle car. I don’t really know a whole lot about old school Mopars like the Hemi Cuda and the, you know, the Roadrunner and the Superbird and the Chargers.

Um, it never struck my interest much, but I know that every time I see one, I’m very impressed with it because they’re really rare that didn’t make a lot of Hemi Cudas. Um, Hemi Cuda, essentially Cuda is a short term or shortened for Barracuda. So it was called a Hemi Barracuda, Plymouth Barracuda.

Everyone’s called it a Cuda. So, um, they’re iconic and I love seeing one on the road. You and I actually, the other day when we picked up a Charlie, we were going down Langsford.

I saw a modern Dodge Challenger Redeye that had a Hemi Cuda grill in it, like the old school ones. It was so cool, but I wasn’t going to point it out because you and I were having a really, uh, important conversation about Kansas city car detailing. Yeah.

Well, it’s our favorite thing to talk about. Um, so it’s comparison on this list is, let me guess. Yeah.

It is going to be a Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye or 170 pretty much a 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170. Ah, I did not think of say Demon, but yeah, Demon 170, Hellcat 170, same thing. That is a wild car.

I mean, that is a wild car and they may only made 170 of them. So yeah, so well, 170 and then I don’t know what the other significance behind it is, but they’re super hard to get ahold of. Uh, I remember I had a Kansas city car detailing customer who collected Vipers and, um, other really cool Dodge, uh, performance cars.

And he owned a Dodge dealership and he couldn’t even get one, like order one and he owned a Dodge dealership. So it’s very hard to get ahold of. They are so fast.

And they’re like a Demon 170 is like cost as much as a Lamborghini Huracan. It’s like 220 to 250 grand for a challenger. And so again, that’s where like, I would struggle having a car like that.

And then parking it next to a V6 challenger and something like, oh, we had the same car. It’s like, no, you paid 20 grand for yours. I paid 200 for mine, but they both look the same.

Does that make sense? Yeah, that does. Versus like a Corvette. You know, if you’ve got a Z06 and you park it next to a base model and someone like we have the same car, it’s like, well, you know, even a base model Corvette, as much as I joke is still somewhat of a, of a, of a supercar.

Yeah. You know, the base model Corvette is still fast versus a base model challenger, a base model Camaro is just super, super slow. Yeah.

All right. Next up on the list, we have a 1966 Ford, Ford GT 40. I was going to give it to you because basically the same thing.

And it’s comparison today is a 2023 Ford GT. So just it’s compared to today. Yeah.

Yeah. You know, um, you remember that movie we watched Ford versus Ferrari? Yes. That’s the car that that’s the Ford GT.

Okay. So, um, yeah, they’re, they’re iconic. I mean, that’s the car that Ford built.

Carol Shelby and Ford came together and beat Ferrari with, which is just insane that Ford, you know, back in the sixties made a car that outran Ferrari and Porsche and, um, I love the Ford GT, but they’re so unattainable because they are so, so expensive. Um, I have a couple of Kansas city car detailing clients who have older Ford GTs, um, but they’re, you know, they’re clones, so they’re not real, but they’re, they’re one off replicas. They’re identical.

If you parked a real one next to the replica, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference and they’re still like $400,000 for a replica versus a real one’s like in the high seven figures. So, and then with the new ones, the new ones are really cool. Um, I actually used to be a car salesman and the dealership that I worked at the owner of the Ford dealership had a modern Ford GT, it was a 2022, I think 2021 or 2022, and it was parked in his office, but they rolled it out into the showroom floor and I remember, you know, they, they, they put the, the sale sticker in it, you know, they were selling it for like 1.1 million and new, they were like 400,000, but you had to be asked to buy one.

So only, you know, a handful of people actually got to buy these cars. So people are paying over double, even triple what they cost new just to get one. And I remember that particular one, none of the salesmen were allowed to sell it because it was, you know, he paid 400 for it with the dealership money.

And so selling it for almost three times what he paid for, it would have been an insane commission that they didn’t want to pay. So it was like only the owner and the general manager were allowed to sell that car, but, um, I’ve seen a couple of them in person. Um, actually when I met Andy Frisella on accident, I did not mean to meet him.

I met him at a quick trip parking lot here in Kansas city. Um, he was hopping out of his orange one. And so that was pretty cool.

Um, he has a bright orange one that he figured out how to get an allocation from Ford to get. So, um, no, the Ford GTs are incredible. The first fast car that I ever rode in was a 2004 Ford GT.

When I was like nine or 10 years old, it was like the first time I ever experienced a super car was our neighbors. Same guy who had the Jaguar E-type had this Ford GT that he ordered brand new. And it was the coolest experience ever.

That’s what hooked me. I think. I bet, but that’s still got a special place in your heart.

All right. It does next up on the list. We have a 1967 Ferrari, two seven five GTB four.

Do you have any thoughts? Yes. What thoughts do I have? What, what comparison? I’m staring at one right now. Really? Yep.

Yeah. They are, um, they’re worth a lot of money. Um, I don’t know a lot about the GTB four cam.

I know that they’re an iconic classic Ferrari. I know that they’re, they’re very, very, very, very sought after. I just don’t know a lot about them.

I don’t know a whole lot about vintage Ferraris. Um, I know that the, um, I’m willing to bet that I know what the modern day equivalent is for it though. Yeah.

What do you think it is? It would either be a, think about this. It would either be a Ferrari eight 12 super fast, or it would be a Ferrari 12. So it’s cylindrical.

Which one is it? Uh, the first one. So it’s a 2024 Ferrari eight 12, but they have a competition. Competizione.

Yep. Yep. So the, so the competizione is like the high dollar, uh, street legal track version of the eight 12.

Um, so, you know, when, when we left our wedding, we left our wedding in a Ferrari eight 12 TDF. And the TDF is like the competizione version of the F12. Okay.

So same idea. Um, they’re wicked. I know there’s, there’s two eight 12 TDFs or eight 12, uh, competizione in town.

One of them is a friend of mine that I’ve, I’ve performed a Kansas city car detailing package on straight from the factory and then the other one’s actually owned by Patrick Mahomes. Those are the only two in town. So there’s a, there’s a white one with blue stripes and a red interior.

That’s the one that I performed the Kansas city car detailing package on. And then the, um, black one, I’d love to do a car for Patrick Mahomes, but if you’re listening to this podcast, we are the number one Kansas city car detailing service in Kansas city. Exactly.

So if somebody is wanting to get ahold of you, either if they know Mahomes, Mahomes wants to get ahold of you or just somebody in general is wanting to get connected with you for more Kansas city car detailing services.
