I’m tired of driving all across town. Yep, exactly. So tell us just a little bit about this racing we’re talking about.
- So there was a movie that came out in the 80s, late 70s, early 80s. Your parents both probably know about it.
It’s called the Cannonball and it was based off of a true story. A guy named Rock. It’ll come to me, but it was it was about this this underground world to set the record between driving between New York and L.A. It was called a Cannonball run and it initially in the 80s and 70s and 80s.
It was people that were doing it at the same time. So you know if you had a and it was it was wealthy people. I mean these people had Lamborghinis, they had Ferraris, they had Corvettes, Lotuses, Porsches, and the guy who actually set the record did it in a ambulance.
It was the only vehicle that you could run across country with sirens blaring knowing you’re gonna pull them over. So Brock Yates was his name. Brock Yates set the record in an ambulance.
So it’s been a bucket list item of mine to do the 2904. The 2904 means 2904 miles. So it’s 2904 miles between New York and L.A. and you leave from a hotel in New York and then you get to a certain hotel in L.A. I can’t remember the name of either one of them.
But in 2020 yeah in 2020 during the lockdowns I was very close to being a part of a group of people who we were going to go set the record. We had acquired the car for it. It was a Cadillac CTS-V.
We had put a fuel cell in it so that you’ve never actually heard this story have you? So we had acquired a Cadillac CTS-V. It was a friend of mine who was a famous YouTuber. Watch JR Go.
If you are a YouTube person you watch cars you probably know who that is. But he had bought a fuel cell in the back and it was gonna be me, him, and person. You’re on Instagram.
You follow Big Ryan. It’s gonna be me, him, and Big Ryan. Three of us were gonna try to set the record.
We were going at the time for 24 hours. The previous record was 25.70. So we were going for 28 because it’s a little ridiculous to try fuel cell in it. I’d have to do all the laser jamming.
I don’t want to just for fun. Gosh that way you could trade drivers. I don’t want to do it with you.
You do it with me? I wouldn’t be able to drive it if something happened. Huh? I wouldn’t be able to drive it if you got tired. So yeah that’s it.
You would recommend as far as I would ensure their vehicle would get cleaner faster. Rain just rolled right off of the windshield. It’s just it’s a game changer.
Let’s do a car to improve. You did the other day though. Talk about how different that felt.
That literally felt like I got a brand new car. It did. That felt like I bought a brand new car.
