Thank you, Thomas, for joining us. Thank you so much for having me on. I just love coming on here every week and talking about cars and Kansas City Car Detailing, all the cool things that we’re working on in the Kansas City area.
Yeah, uh today we’re going to be continuing talking about vintage day cars compared to um cars today. Um, so if you’ve missed any of the past ones, feel free to go back to our past podcasts and see if you agree with the list. All right.
So number one on this list is a 1971 Lamborghini Miura SV. That car was dubbed by the um at the Geneva Auto Show as the most beautiful car ever built. Really? Yep.
Yep. That is that the headlights were supposed to kind of emulate a woman’s eyelashes. Um, it was supposed to look like a beautiful woman.
It’s kind of what Lamborghini was going after. That car is like right before Lamborghini took the started building cars that are like the iconic Lamborghini look. You’re like you look at a Lamborghini and you’re like that’s a Lamborghini.
If you look at a Miura and you don’t know cars, you may think it’s an old Corvette, but the Miura was kind of like the last car that Lamborghini built that was a front engine pro touring car. I love the Miura. I think that they’re gorgeous.
What do you think it’s equivalent to today? Oh man, um I got three that I think it’ll be. Okay. It’s either the Lamborghini Rivalto, the Lamborghini Huracan STO or the Lamborghini Tecnica.
They have it as a Lamborghini Rivalto. Rivalto. I should have just trusted my heart.
You know, I’ll actually tell you. I love Rivalto. There’s a guy in Lee’s Summit.
It’s the only one in Kansas City right now and he’s got a purple one. Oh really? It’s like a million dollar car. They’re so, they’re beautiful, but I don’t like them.
Okay. Because they replaced the Aventador with the Rivalto and the Rivalto is a hybrid. So even though it’s a V12, they lowered the displacement in the V12 and it does not sound as good as the naturally aspirated V12 that they had in the Aventador.
So I think that the last true Italian Lamborghini if we’re really going off of like what Lamborghini was and like the feel and the ambiance of a Lamborghini is actually the Lamborghini Murcielago six-speed because that was the last V12 manual transmission Lamborghini that Lamborghini ever put out. They had the gated manual. So every time you changed the gear you heard that metal on metal clank.
That’s just it’s just an Italian feel. It would either be that or the Aventador because the Aventador was like the last true V12 no electronic hybrid type car and you know, I’ve I’ve been lucky enough to work on both cars performing Kansas City car detailing services on both an Aventador and a Murcielago and I love them, but not really a fan of the Rivalto, even though I still think that they are beautiful just not my forte. Next up we have a 1970 Buick GSX So when I was a little kid my grandpa Carl told me stories about his Buick GNX Okay, and he claimed that he would tape a hundred dollar bill on the dash And when he would punch the throttle if you could grab that hundred dollar bill off of the dash You could keep the hundred that was his thing Is that true or not? I don’t know but I know that for the era that was like That car was so advanced for the time Because it doesn’t really look that special but they put an electronic fuel injected V6 in it It was a dual overhead cam V6 with twin turbos that were um They had like an electronic control switch and it was like for that era that car was like a computer it was It was it would kind of be like the modern day GTR.
Okay, so I think they’re iconic. I wish my grandpa still had his GNX because That would have been really cool to perform a Kansas City car detailing package on but above all else it would be really cool to drive. Yeah, I’ve never I’ve never driven in one. I’ve never written in one. I’ve only seen pictures of his GNX.
So those are cool cars. Its comparison today is a 2023 Cadillac CT5V Blackwing. I don’t think that is. I don’t know a lot about the GT5 or the CT5 Blackwing. I think it’s got an LT5 Which is the same engine as the Is the um, I don’t know it’s got an LT4 Which is the same engine that they put in the C7 Z06 It’s got a lot of horsepower but it’s a sedan And I don’t think you can compare a Grand National Or GNX to a Cadillac, I think the better comparison would be The ATS-V Coupe. I think that’s a better comparison personally, but yeah, that’s a twin turbo v6 And next up on the list.
We have a 1967 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, one of the first cars actually the first car that I ever did, a Kansas City car detailing Three-stage paint correction on Was an Alfa Romeo Stradale Really? Yep It was it belonged to my The landlord at my first shop or my third shop um and I Spent like three weeks on the car wet sanding it Paint correcting it just you know wet sand paint correct repeat wet sand paint correct repeat And it was Turned out beautifully and it’s a very very beautiful car and I imagine that the modern Version of that car is the Alfa Romeo 4c it is A Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, but it says the electric which I know you’re not much of a fan of So it says there’s a literal rebirth Alfa Romeo Alfa brought it back 50 plus years later I guess I don’t know what that car is I’ll have to look into it later because I don’t know what that car is, but I mean, that’s that’s definitely interesting Uh, so if somebody was going to get a hold of you, how would they go about doing so? the best way to get a hold of me if you are wanting to book a Kansas City car detailing service is to Give me a call at 620-282-0402 You can also go online to bespokerefinement.com and you can check out a list of all of our different Kansas City car detailing packages and services and then you can also Email me at info at bespokerefinement.com to Get more information on any of our Kansas City car detailing services
