Hello, Kansas City area. Welcome back to the Bespoke Automotive Refinement Podcast. We are so excited that you are here with us today.

Again, we have Thomas Thill, founder and owner of the company himself. Thomas, thank you so much for joining us today.

I’m so happy to be here.

Can you tell us a little bit, like when you go work on a car, what does the process of that look like? Like how would somebody actually even book a service with Bespoke Automotive Refinement in the Kansas City area?

So the best way to do it, we have a website, www.bespokerefinement.com. You can book online. So you can go on there and choose what package you want.

And you can see our availability on the calendar, Google Calendar. You can book there. I’m more of a hands-on person.

So I actually prefer that my customers call me. That way I can talk through the process with them. So many times whenever people book a job online, it’s definitely more convenient, but you may end up booking something that you think that this detail package is gonna suit your needs and then it doesn’t.

And so obviously we offer a lot of Kansas City Car Detailing services, but I just always wanna make sure that the customer understands what they’re getting. And so I always prefer that they call me before booking just so they know what they’re getting.

So if I am looking for Kansas City Car Detailing services, I would just go to www.bespokerefinement.com, either book on the website itself or you can browse all your services that you offer or I can call you. What’s your phone number if I wanted to call?

My phone number is 620-282-0402.

Now a 620 number is not the Kansas City area. It’s not. How do I know that you are legit?

Well, because I promise I’m not AI. I’m a real human. No, I grew up in Western Kansas and so Western Kansas, the 620 is the area code out there.

So this is your personal phone number?

This is my personal phone number, yes.

So you answer it all hours of the day?

All hours of the day.

So if I were to call and I set it up, a time for you to come, what does that look like when you do arrive? Like let’s say I’m actually at home, what does the process look like?

So when you book one of our Kansas City Car Detailing services and we show up, I’ll come up to your front door, I’ll knock on the door, I’ll let you know who I am. Obviously I’m here to detail your car and I unload all of my tools. I set up a, I have two tables that I set everything up with and I have like a full blown detail shop I set up in your driveway.

You really don’t have to do anything.

Do I need to meet you outside or do I just give you a code to get in the garage? Do I put my car out front?

You know, it completely depends. I have people do everything. I have people give me their garage code when they’re not even home.

I have people that leave the car in the driveway with the key in it and they just have me start on it and then I have people that, you know, wanna stand out there for a little bit and kind of help me, have me walk through what I’m gonna do. All three, I’m totally okay with.

Okay, so let’s say I book a maintenance wash. How do I set that up with you so that it’s an automatic scheduled event?

You can go on our website, www.bespokerefinement.com. You can view all of our Kansas City Car Detailing Packages and there’s a link that you’ll click on that shows weekly, bi- weekly, and monthly maintenance washing services and you just click on that and I would prefer a phone call rather than booking online. I understand the convenience of booking online but it’s a lot easier for me to talk with the client, figure out what day, time works for them on a consistent basis rather than them just booking in and then, you know, me setting up to do it after.

So when I wanna go on and book, is there a deposit or do I just pay everything a couple weeks after you do it? What does the process look like when I want a Kansas City Car Detailing service done on my car?

So we require a $35 deposit that just books that time in. It’s non-refundable. We get you, we get your credit card information and then, you know, if you wanna pay for the rest of it in cash, we do that.

If you wanna pay for the rest of it with Venmo, check, whatever, just take that $35 off of that or if you wanna charge it to your credit card, we’ll do it right there when we’re finished.

When you are done working on a car, is there anything that I, as a customer needing a Kansas City Car Detailing service, can do to help you?

When the car’s done? Yeah. The big thing is, keep your car clean. So I always recommend people, you know, especially if you have kids, you can go buy a little, like a tiny little trash bucket at Walmart for like 10 bucks, put a small sack in it and have your kids put the trash in that versus having them throw it on the floor or shove everything under the seat because especially if you’re wanting to do a maintenance wash, I mean, if the car’s dirty enough, we’re either not gonna detail it or we’re gonna do a full detail. Like if I show up and there’s trash in the interior and you’re wanting to do a $179 maintenance wash, there’s gonna be enough charge to clean the trash out of it so make sure you keep your car clean when you’re finished.

Are there discounts or coupons or anything like that if somebody wanted to save a little money on a Kansas City Car Detailing package?

Yeah, so we offer bundle packages, but stuff like that, you know, it all depends on the size of the vehicle. You know, it depends on how many you want done and it’s, you know, there really isn’t like a set discount, right, because so many people have so many different numbers of vehicles and sizes of vehicles, but we do offer discounts, yes.

If I had a garage full of cars, how many cars do you think you could get done with just the basic maintenance wash in one day?

Oh, I can do five maintenance washes in a day.

In a day, you just kind of, I just give you the keys, leave them in there, you pull them out, wash them, bring them back in?

Yeah, the most I’ve done in a day is five, no, I’ve done six in a day.

Does it ever happen when you get in a car and you realize, hey, this is gonna need a lot more work and you need to increase either the price as an add-on or a package? Do you alert the client or is there just a silent agreement that, hey, if this is gonna require more work, there’s gonna be an upcharge?

There’s a silent agreement before or after you book the service. I do send out a price sheet that shows base prices and then the upcharge if you have a mid-size vehicle or a full-size vehicle, and then there’s an upcharge for things like pet hair, extra dirty cleaning fee, all of that, so it’s kind of an understood thing. You know, you really don’t have time to, especially if someone leaves for work and their car’s way dirtier than what we had anticipated, you know, it’s kind of an understood thing.

You’re paying me to detail your car, I’m gonna detail your car.

Do you ever have any scheduling conflicts, and if so, what do you do?

Like if two people overbook?

That, or let’s say me as a client. Hey, this isn’t gonna work out today. What’s the process for rebooking?

Just find a day that works for your schedule and a day that, you know, another opening that I have and we reschedule.
