Thank you to all of my Kansas City car detailing clientele who have made this dream a reality for me. In our last podcast, we listed out the top slowest supercars from zero to 60, and now we’re going to be actually talking about the 25 fastest cars in the world. And this is updated as of 2024.

Thomas, just off the top of your head before we dive into it, what do you think are some of the fastest supercars? Bugatti Chiron, Peersport, Bugatti Devo, Lamborghini Aventador. No, I quit with the Aventador. Lamborghini Robuelto, Koenigsegg, the Pagani Utopia, the Ferrari SP2 or SP3, and the, oh gosh, is it James Gordon T50? Gordon T50 is one of them.

That’s all I can think of. So the first production vehicle to crack 200 miles per hour, do you know this? First car to crack 200, I believe it was the Plymouth Superbird or it was a Corvette Callaway. Nope, it was actually in 1987 with the Ferrari F40.

Oh, I have a client with one of those. Yep, it was the first ever car to break 200, and then after that they had a race to enter the 300 miles per hour club. In 2019, there were three different companies that joined the race.

Do you know what the top three would be? Bugatti, Koenigsegg, and was it, oh it was my boy John Hennessey. Yes, it was. Yep, those three jumped into the race and they achieved over 300 miles per hour with 304.7, and then in 2020 there were some hyper cars that were announced with many of them reaching over 300 miles per hour.

Now the top 25 cars, we’re going to start at the bottom and work our way to the number one fastest car. Number 25 is the Porsche 918 Spyder. Do you know how fast its top speed is? I think it’s in the, is this going from slowest to fastest? Uh-huh, within the top 25.

I think it’s 220 something. Very close, 218. Okay.

Any thoughts on the Porsche 918 Spyder? Yeah, I did. I had that picture I showed you earlier when we were doing our dream boards. I showed you the picture of the car collection.

I was like, I know that guy. Remember that? Yep. Yeah, that’s, I’ve done, actually the car that’s in Steve Hamilton’s collection.

It’s a very well-known hyper car collection. The gray with the red accent at 918. I did a Kansas City car detailing package on that car when it lived in Kansas.

Next up, number 24, which is interesting because Aston Martin regularly was on the slowest list, but they’re on the fastest list for number 24. Aston Martin 177 with 220 miles per hour. You know, I don’t really know if you can call that a production car because that car was a concept car.

So outside of maybe a hundred units being ever made, I mean, I don’t know if you can call that a production car. Like I’ve never seen one on the road. I’ve never even seen photos of one on the road.

Number 23, we have the Lamborghini Aventador LP 780 for Ultima with 221 miles per hour. Yep. I also did a Kansas City car detailing package on one of those back in 2019.
Purple one. Number 22 is a Gordon Murray Automotive T50 at 230 miles per hour. I thought it was Gordon Murray T50.

Yep. So that car was designed after the McLaren F1, which at one point was the fastest car in the world. And those are gorgeous.

I love those. Number 21, we have the Pagani Huayra 238 miles per hour. It goes from zero to 60 in a mere 2.8 seconds.

Pagani Huayra is one of my all-time dream cars. They’re like, I think they cost two or three million now. That car is a work of art, man.

It looks absolutely gorgeous. Did you know that the mirrors were actually designed after a woman’s eyelashes? Oh, I can see that. It does look like that.

Number 20, we have the Pagani Huayra BC Roadster at 240. But it is estimated. Why would it be estimated? Is it just… Probably because they did it on a dyno.

They never actually proved it on the street. They put it on a dyno and it did 240 miles an hour on a dyno. But yeah, those are insane cars.

I love Paganis. Pagani has a really cool story, actually. So Pagani used to work for Lamborghini.
And he had the idea of putting carbon fiber on Lamborghinis. And they told him it was a stupid idea. So he went and started his own company.

Now, they put carbon fiber. Lamborghini offers full carbon fiber cars. So he was right.

He was right. He actually lived in a tent when he started his company. Wow.

Now he builds cars worth, you know, three, five million dollars. Number 19, we have the McLaren F1 with 240.1 miles per hour. Remember me telling you about that car that was $800,000 new and now they’re like 15 to 30 million dollars? Yes.

That’s what that is. Wow. What made it boost up so much? They didn’t make very many of them.
And everyone wants an analog supercar now because all these supercars are like electronically driven. That’s like the fastest supercar that will let you crash it.

Like a lot of these new cars, they just they’re uncrashable. Number 18, this will be the last one for this podcast, is the saleen S7 twin turbo at 248 miles per hour. I definitely did a Kansas City car detailing package on one of those when I was 15 years old.

My dad had one of those. Wow. He had one of the top 18.

He didn’t have the twin turbo, but he had a saline. So I think it only did 190. But yep, that’s actually what I learned to drive a stick on.
