Hello, Kansas City. Welcome back to the Bespoke Automotive Refinement Podcast. You’re number one, go to Kansas City Car Detailing Podcast and you’re number one, Kansas City Car Detailing Service Business.
We are so glad that you joined us tonight to learn more about Kansas City Car Detailing and to hear from the one and only Thomas Tell. Now, Thomas, how are you doing tonight? Namaste. I think that’s Chinese for hello.
I am good. I’m so happy to come on here and just talk about cars and Kansas City Car Detailing and just anything. Everything with four wheels on it just puts a big old smile on the front of my face.
Now, before we kind of dive into today’s topic, can you tell us a little bit about why you started Bespoke Automotive Refinement Podcast to service Kansas City Car Detailing clients? Well, to make a really long story short, I love cars and so I wanted to find a way at a young age to be able to be around high-end cars because at the ripe young age of 18 years old, I could not afford to own a ton of exotic cars, but I could start a business to be around them and work on them and sometimes even get to drive them. That’s actually why I got into the business because I love cars. Something that’s a favorite of yours because you do like all cars.
You enjoy driving my Jeep. You enjoy driving trucks. You enjoy driving Corvettes, but one of your favorites is supercars.
So, today we’re going to be going through the top 10 supercars through the eyes of an expert. You literally touch a supercar almost on the daily here in Kansas City. What’s some of your top favorites here in Kansas City? We’ll take it broader here.
Well, I think first you have to clarify what a supercar is because you’ve got people that refer to a base model Corvette as a supercar. No, it’s not. That’s a sports car.
You’ve got people that refer to a base model Porsche 911 as a supercar. No, it’s not. A supercar to me is something that has, it’s not a horsepower number.
It’s something that can do over 200 miles an hour and something that has a very sleek look that’s exotic. A supercar and exotic car are basically the same thing. Now, your question was about my favorite supercars in the Kansas City area.
Is that correct? Correct. Okay. Just something that you personally work on here in the area.
I gotta tell you, one that really took my breath away was a couple weeks ago and it was the Ferrari SF90. That car is more considered a hyper car because of the hybrid technology that it utilizes, but it’s still a supercar. I love the lines.
I love every angle of that car. It looks good. There isn’t a single angle of that car that does not look good. It just looks great all the way around.
Definitely the Ferrari SF90. It’s a thousand horsepower factory. It’s at the same power plant as the Ferrari LaFerrari without spending $5 million and waiting three years to get one.
The SF90s really dropped in value substantially. I knew they were a million and now you can get one for like $400. Horrible investment, but what a great car.
Another one that is also one that I’ve performed a Kansas City car detailing service on would be my client’s Ferrari F12 TDF, which is the car that you and I are driving away from our wedding in. That car is a, uh, it’s obviously a Ferrari, so it’s obviously a supercar, but Ferrari did a limited production of the F12s and they did the TDF. I don’t know what TDF stands for, but it’s essentially a street legal track purpose race car that you could drive on the street.
Very light, very agile, or smooth. And I’ve driven that car a lot and I love that car. Uh, another one would be another client of mine.
I haven’t got to work on the car yet, but I’m just going to go ahead and manifest it. Uh, the Bugatti Veyron Club Sport. There’s a guy in town who just got one.
I actually didn’t know this until the other day, but that car was Bugatti’s press car. So that was the car that Bugatti shipped all over the world. Like all of them, like the Geneva auto show, uh, SEMA, this car was Bugatti’s car that they shipped all over the world to like to use as a press car.
So, very, very special that that car lives in Kansas city now. And, you know, probably between three to $4 million cars. And lastly, I got to give this guy a call.
This reminds me, book him for a Kansas city car detailing package, but the, uh, Mercedes SL going. Yeah. Didn’t even know.
I didn’t even know one of those lived in the Midwest. And there’s one in Kansas city, right down the street from where my sister lives. Pretty wild.
That is wild. To do some of your favorite super cars. So number one, or do you want to work from number 10 and then they get to number one or just go straight to the top and work your way down? Number 10 and our way down the number 10 would be to me, it would be the Nissan GTR, um, R 35 particularly.
It was a car that like I grew up really when I started like researching cars extensively with like the mindset, like I had a driver’s license at this point and the GTR came out and it was like, I viewed it differently because I had a driver’s license at that point and the GTR came out. And I remember it was like, it’s like, I don’t know. I just idolized that car.
Definitely 10 would be the Nissan GTR. It’s 10 because they aren’t reliable, but they’re like, it’s like a poor man’s 911 turbo. And at the end of the day, it’s still a Nissan. It’s a really fast Nissan, but it’s still a Nissan.
Number nine would be the Lamborghini Gallardo. That was the one the other day when I was like, pronounce that word. And you’re like, Gallardo.
But the Lamborghini Gallardo, it’s, it’s a great entry level supercar. They’re not that expensive. You know, you look at one and you think it’s a $400,000 car and you can buy one for 80, 90 grand.
But the interior build quality being Italian didn’t age very well. Like, like real Italian supercars, they use real Italian leather and they just don’t over time. Like them, they don’t age well.
If you sit in a Lamborghini Gallardo, you can’t sit in it with the thought of modern plush luxury. It’s like, no, that car was made in the early two thousands and it aged like it, but it’s still like the last raw V10 gated six speed manual car that Lamborghini ever made. So definitely on the list.
Number eight for me would be the Dodge Viper SRT 10. They’re really raw. They’re really fast.
I love the way they look, but I grew up driving Dodge trucks from that same era. And so every time I sat at one end, I owned a Dodge Viper SRT 10. And every time I sat in it and every time I drove it, I felt like I was sitting in a small two seater version of a Dodge ram pickup because it was built with the same interior quality.
I just didn’t like that. Yeah. It’s hard for me to wrap my mind around the idea of spending that much money on a car that felt like a Dodge pickup truck.
Yeah. So, and we’re actually all out of time on this episode, but we’re going to continue on talking more about supercars in the next episode. Thomas, can you tell people a little bit about how they can get a hold of you to work on their supercars? Absolutely.
