Thank you for having me on, Averee. So today’s topic is we’re going to explore, maybe you can clarify it as a woman’s car or a man’s car, or just even you and I have differences of what we enjoy in a vehicle. I, for one, am somebody that likes to be higher up from the ground.
I am only 5’2″, so being high on the ground makes me feel, I think, more powerful, more confident. I feel like if something happened, I could roll over another car and not be damaged. I prefer Jeeps or those kinds of vehicles.

I like Defenders, Land Rovers, those kinds of cars. Thomas, can you tell us a little bit about your general types of cars? Well, I have two extremes. So I either like something really, really, really, really big and bulky, not necessarily like a lifted truck, because lifted trucks have so much in terms of jacking up the suspension, but you can’t really hit something hard with a lifted truck and the suspension doesn’t always hold up.

I want something that, if we’re talking big vehicles, that I can smash through anything and I wouldn’t destroy the front axles like you would on a lifted pickup. So I would want something either like a H2 Hummer or like a Resvani or like a full-on armored vehicle. So I want something that’s either way over the top, that’s literally bulletproof, or I want something that’s close to the road.

So I grew up in a town where everyone had lifted trucks and no one had sports cars. So I always wanted a sports car. And I was lucky enough to be able to have a couple sports cars at a relatively young age, and this was something that I always wanted to be different with.

So when I got my first sports car, I felt one with the road. When you’re low to the ground and you’re in a car that has coilover suspension or it has adjustable ride height, magnetic ride, PDK, DCT, and if you’re a car guy you know exactly what I just said, you literally feel like you are one with the road. You don’t feel like you’re trying to steer something down the road.

Like right now we’re in a big Jeep, and you feel like you’re steering it down the road. You feel like you’re driving on top of the road. When you’re in a sports car, when you’re in a supercar, you feel like you are literally on the road, not on the road.

And I love cars that you could be going 190 to 200 miles an hour down a road like we’re on right now. And you feel like no matter how many bumps you hit, no matter how many uneven spots you hit in the road, it’s delicate, but it’s smooth because smooth is fast. Also something that you and I differ in is maybe the comfort or what you see inside of the vehicle.

So I for one am somebody that I would purchase a vehicle or even if I was going to rent a car, the thing I’m always going to check for or need is to make sure that I have Apple CarPlay or similar features. I can plug my phone in, play music, the map is easy to navigate on the screen. I also like adaptive cruise control.

I like the heated seat steering wheel. So for me, the checklist was, is it a red Jeep? Because that was the look I was looking for when I bought my car. And then after that, I wanted to make sure it had adaptive cruise control and heated seats, heated steering wheel, airplay, all of those features.

That was a big priority for me. It wasn’t really the engine or transmission or gas mileage or any of those other features. I wanted to be in a car that I could ride in comfortably and get from point A to point B. And that experience was a priority.

For you, though, you actually like cars that are of an older style that maybe don’t have any version of technology. Like you almost have an aversion to cars that have more technology because you feel like it’s keeping you from really having a great ride. Yeah, so I enjoy cars that have no computer that saves you from crashing the car.

My favorite cars are Corvette Z06s, the C5 Z06 and the C6 Z06. I think those cars are the best driving experience that you can get for under $200,000. They have older interiors.
They don’t have the, they’re well put together, but they don’t have all of the tech. They don’t have Apple CarPlay. They don’t have adaptive cruise control.

But they do have the ability to press a button and shut every computer in the car off to where you can actually drive it. And you are, you’re getting a true driving experience. The best modern car, in my opinion, is the Porsche GT3 RS, the new one, the 991, or excuse me, the 992 GT3 RS.

Because it has all of the new Apple CarPlay, heated, cooled seats, it has all of that. But it also has the ability to shut off every computer in the car and drive the car. I don’t necessarily have a problem with cars that have all of the new Apple CarPlay, heated and cooled seats.

I love that stuff. That’s why I loved my C6 Z06. I mean it had heated and cooled seats. It had Apple CarPlay. But it had the ability to be driven like an old school race car. And it had the power of an old school race car.

If you know a whole lot about racing and you’ve watched the movie Ford vs. Ferrari, you know the Ford GT. And it’s a little bit different displacement, a little bit different camshaft variation.
But essentially the engine in the C6 Z06 Corvette is the same displacement, cubic inch, and liter size as the engine that was in the Ford GT that won the 24 Hour Le Mans in the 1960s and beat Ferrari and Porsche and Maserati. So you have that power plant in a car that’s drivable on the street. So if somebody is wanting to get a hold of you and one, to talk about cars because it seems like you appreciate a car or two no matter what.

Yes. Big car guy. Big car guy.
