Hello Kansas City and welcome back to the Bespoke Automotive Refinement Podcast. I am your host Thomas Till and I am the founder and owner of Bespoke Refinement. We are Kansas City’s number one car detailing service as well as Kansas City ceramic coating services.

And today guys we are going to continue with our segment on Facebook Marketplace Cars for Sale. It’s a really fun segment for me because in my free time I just love going on Facebook Marketplace and scouring the internet. You know sometimes I find cars for sale that I either forgot existed or didn’t even know existed.

I love looking and seeing what values certain cars are doing. And so it’s a really fun thing to talk about and it’s really fun to get to enjoy it with you. So let’s begin.

Right now we are in the Nashua New Hampshire area so that’s kind of what I set the map at. But I have a 250 mile radius so it’s basically picking up most of the New England area. So first on the list is actually a car that I’ve really been thinking about lately.

It’s interesting because it’s a cheap car. It’s a car that I think my wife would probably look at and think, “What do you think of that? Because I had one. What do you think of that? Is that a cool car? I wouldn’t look at that and think it’ll be special.

Okay so that’s a car that at some point you and I are probably going to have in our garage because it’s more than just a 90s Mitsubishi or 90s JDM car. I mean that’s exactly what it is. But also it kind of captures an era of car culture that’s gone.

And one thing that I really want to do at some point is buy an old JDM Japanese sports car that was a part of the Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota when they were all competing to try to make the best sports car. And then obviously when those cars got shipped over to the United States it created this era of car culture where everyone had big chrome wheels and body kits and crazy paint jobs with custom libraries and loud exhausts. You don’t see that anymore.

I mean when I see a car, an old JDM supercar, JDM sports car with a big APR GT2 wing and a body kit, I get really excited because that era of cars and that era of car culture is just gone. But it used to be like that was car culture. That was cool.

And so at some point a mid-90s 3000 GT with a big body kit and a big wing and undergrow lights and race seats, as crazy as it is, would be a dream of mine to have in the garage just to modify it and work on it and take it to car shows. Something that if I took to Nopi Nationals in the early 2000s I would be the coolest dude ever. So obviously this one’s a non-turbo.

I mean I really think the turbo cars have gotten way overpriced. I had two of these when I was a teenager. I had a 96 SL that I paid $3,500 for.

I mean this one’s $12,000. And then I bought a 99 VR4 which was a twin turbo car. Didn’t have a title.

I paid $700 for it. I saw one of those sell the other day for $120,000 which is insane to think about. I mean when I bought that car I never thought of them as investments.

I was like this is a fun six-speed manual twin turbo sports car. Like it’s a cheap way to get into a fast car that’ll, you know, run a 12 second quarter mile. I was not thinking of an investment which I own either one of them now so it doesn’t really matter.

But anywaysKansas City Ceramic Coating, that is a car that at some point I would love to have in my garage with a lot of really cool, era-correct modifications like the body kit and the big wing and the underglow lights. And everyone will probably think I’m a poser for it but I don’t really care. Next on the list is a 2007 campaign t-rex.

So I don’t know what this thing is. I’ve seen these before. I think it’s considered a motorcycle because it’s a three-wheeler.

But it’s not really something that I would like to ever buy. It’s $43,000. It’s just not like a supercar.

It’s not something that is exceptionally exotic or like I don’t know anything about them. Kansas City ceramic coating. But that’s just me personally.

Okay next on the list is well this is actually the cheapest McLaren 570s that I have seen for sale yet. It’s a 2019 um something like that copper orange um it this is actually a scam ad. I could tell by looking at it.

So we’re just gonna we’re gonna skip on past that one. Um okay this is dope. So it’s a 1993 Volkswagen Corrado SLC coupe.

This is another one of those cars that like the average person if I showed it to them they would be like why? Why would you buy that? Why would you? Yeah but I think they’re pretty sick. It’s got the VR6 engine which is the same engine that came in the Volk or the Golf GTI race car. This is in a bigger body.

It’s more of like a sports car than it is like a hot hatch like the Golf was. It’s stretched longer. It’s wider.

Um this one’s pretty sick. It’s got ARP heads. It’s a VR6 engine.

Um bigger cams. Says here um just needs proper tune and engine management and it will make 700 wheel horsepower which um that’s a lot of horsepower for a car in the early 90s because it has nothing to keep you from wrecking it. Like it doesn’t even have traction control which is crazy.

Okay next on the list guys is a 2005 BMW M3. Being a 2005 it’s the last year of the E46. Um I personally kick myself every time I see one of these for sale because of how much they’ve gone up in value and over the years cars that I passed on, cars that I could have bought.

I did have an opportunity to buy a Laguna Blue E46 M3 the uh SLC Coupe with like 40,000 miles and I have the opportunity to buy buy the car for $21,000 and I ended up buying a car that it would have in value but not by as much as that car would have gone up in value. If I would have bought that car parked in my garage let it sit I could have sold it for 80 or 90 grand which is crazy. So to me the E46 M3 is still like a 15 to 18,000 dollar car with low miles.

This one’s got 160,000 miles. They’re asking 25 grand for it. The reality is they’re probably going to get that for it um which is wild. Okay Kansas City Ceramic Coating, next on the list here is right well this is dope it’s a 2014 Mercedes SLS AMG.

Now this car stole my heart when it was I think it was in the second or third Transformer movie when the main character that Shia LaBeouf plays he ends up dating that blonde and she’s like some executive at a car collection and Patrick Dempsey’s character who’s working with the Decepticons buys her one of these. It’s the first time I ever saw one of those cars and I was like what is that? And years later a friend of mine actually bought one of these so I got to perform a lot of extensive Kansas City car detailing and Kansas City ceramic coating services on an SLS AMG which was pretty sick but this one’s in a matte gray it’s actually a factory paint job a lot of carbon fiber red accents black wheels sick car.
