Two stage paint correction

The Founder of Bespoke Automotive Refinement, offering Kansas City Car Detailing services, has been in the pursuit of automotive perfection for many many years. A vast majority of the population believes that buying a brand new car means that you are getting a perfect car! We have found over the years that couldn’t be further from the truth!  Let me paint you the picture of the perfect storm! Imagine buying a  brand new car, truck or SUV, and you know in your heart that you deserve the right to be picky with how the car looks! You see things like paint swirls, buffer trails, orange peel, scratches, and sanding marks. You would think that the car dealership you trusted with your hard earned money to buy the vehicle of your dreams would have your new vehicle’s best interest in mind. From the transport process, to unloading, the pre-delivery inspection, dealership detailer, and time spent on the lot and test drives before you purchase the vehicle, your new car, truck or SUV has passed through many hands before ending up in your garage!

On top of this, almost every automotive manufacturer doesn’t take the time needed to properly smooth the paint down before delivering the vehicle to the dealership you purchased it at! Even prestigious brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, and Bently come from the manufacturer with enough imperfections in the paint to scare any car enthusiast from spending the money on an expensive car! Our favorite conversation with clients is when a customer is consulting with us about our Kansas City Car Detailing packages, and they ask about paint correction services, and what it is! You can imagine their surprise when we inform them that their brand new vehicle, be it a Ford F250 or a Ferrari 296 GTB needs a paint correction! We are always met with the same response of “Its a brand new car, it doesn’t need a paint Correction! Imagine their surprise when we shine warm and cold light on their brand new car, truck, or SUV exposing all of the imperfections created by both the manufacturer, transport company, and dealership employees! So how do you know which Kansas City Car Detailing paint correction package to choose? It completely depends on how perfect you want your paint to be! Right now we are going to discuss the process, nueces and benefits of a two stage paint correction.

First we begin by hooking up our pressure washer to electricity provided by you, as well as the water connections such as a hose or water spigot. Then washing the vehicle with our advanced foam cannon and extensively detailing and cleaning the exterior! We do this using a two bucket wash bucket method and not only focus on cleaning all the road grime and contamination off the vehicles exterior surface! We also place a major emphasis on cleaning the wheels, tires, wheel wells and exposed chassis on the vehicle. The end result in doing this is not only a perfect  show car finish but also having extremely well cleaned wheels and tires ties the car together. And great news, if you are interested in having extensive car wheel, tire, exposed chassis and wheel well cleaning but you’re not looking for a paint correction we offer so many other Kansas City Car Detailing packages that include deep cleaning your car, truck, and SUVs exterior! Once the Exterior is properly washed and decontaminated, we begin drying the vehicle off with our plush Kevlar drying towels. Now we can begin the two stage paint correction process, this process can typically take between three to seven days depending on the size of the vehicle and the condition of the paint. Typically bigger trucks and SUVs take longer than cars because the size of them are much larger so there is much more surface area needing to be tended to. Additionally trucks specifically being used for more work style purposes are far more likely to have deep surface scratches that will need to be sanded down before being corrected out. We begin the process by examining and testing different pads and compounds until we find the combination that cuts through the imperfections the most efficiently. The first stage of the correction process is focused on cutting through any deep scratches, missed sanding scuffs from the manufacture painters, and orange peel.

The goal in the first step of the two stage paint correction process is to make the surface as smooth as possible. In this step, you will always notice the paint looks dull and without shine, that’s because we have to open the clear coat and soften it to remove all the imperfections before. Once we have compounded the entire vehicle including the headlights and tail lights we rewash the entire exterior to remove all of the compound dust! Here at Bespoke Refinement when booking a paint correction or any of our Kansas City Car Detailing Services we take pride in removing all of the compound dust after performing the first stage of the two stage paint correction! Next we begin testing different types of polishes and microfiber polishing pads until we find a hybrid that makes the paint extremely glossy. If you have a metallic or candy paint job, this is the step that really makes it pop! Many of our customers say that the paint looks much more glossy and shiny after this step! Next we apply whatever ceramic coating or paint protective coating you choose! The standard option is our one year ceramic sealant that provides a hydrophobic slick surface that provides a year of protection! With our Kansas City Car Detailing packages we offer a variety of ceramic coating options that are cost friendly and offer anywhere from one year to five years of protection on the vehicle. These coatings are so strong and hard that you will not need to wax the vehicle in the time frame of whatever ceramic coating you choose us to apply! No matter what your budget you have or what level of protection you are seeking, we have a price point and product that will suit you!
